A School in Nature

NÛN Schools offers a unique learning experience for students on a campus intertwined with nature. If the weather conditions are mild, lessons and practices are taught in the schoolyard. Students actively use the outdoor sports facilities.

On our campus, our students often spend time in the forest and take nature walks. During these nature walks, they observe the biodiversity they share on Earth and discover the importance of interacting with nature.

Being in nature and actively interacting with nature enriches our students socially, psychologically, and academically. They learn observation, research and reporting skills. Being in nature improves their attention and concentration, strengthens their focus, and helps them develop self-management skills.

By spending time with nature, our students develop an awareness that we, as human beings, are a part of nature and should conduct respect and responsibility for all the living things on campus. By interacting with nature, they observe and realize that they are a part of it and are taking on a role that contributes to the balance of nature. This understanding encourages them to view nature not only as a source of our needs but also as a valuable gift that must be protected.

Through their interaction with squirrels, birds, cats, dogs on campus, and other living things in the soil, our students learn to act sensitive and respectful of their relationships with the entities.

Our students also adopt the philosophies of production and transformation in nature. They repetitively experience the consciousness of being a part of nature by planting in the agricultural field and using waste withdrawn in compost making. This sensitivity allows our students to connect with nature, improve their skills and understand the importance of living in harmony with nature.
